My ten month old daughter is breastfed to sleep at naptime and in the night. Recently, she has been waking after half an hour at naptime and more frequently at night. I'm not coping very well with lack of sleep and caring for my older child. I have tried cosleeping but she doesn't settle in our bed. sierralimahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16880425849444803199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102141287849407838.post-54317563407538128542013-01-06T08:14:55.933+00:002013-01-06T08:14:55.933+00:00AA - I was going to let you know that it's Unc...AA - I was going to let you know that it's Uncommonjohn.wordpress.com - It's a male journalist (John Hoffman) :)Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05387160557057523167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102141287849407838.post-79294572136659411622013-01-05T21:32:11.732+00:002013-01-05T21:32:11.732+00:00Oops sorry I didn't realise there were 2 blogs...Oops sorry I didn't realise there were 2 blogs called the same thing!Analytical Armadillo IBCLChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03829027807809292649noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102141287849407838.post-61436220681105716822013-01-05T20:37:48.983+00:002013-01-05T20:37:48.983+00:00I think you've mis-linked to my blog, Uncommon...I think you've mis-linked to my blog, Uncommon Sense. How much misery has been visited on babies and parents because of this assumption which completely ignores the reality of baby mammals? Adults can delay and adapt to meet our needs, a baby cannot. I found breastfeeding the best tool ever to get my babies to sleep. We co-slept and I never walked the floor with a distressed baby, seldom had to get up at night (except to change the occasional nappy) and we never dealt with nightmares or bedtime wars. They are teenagers now and have NO interest in bedsharing anymore and now "sleep through" (in fact have to be prodded repeatedly to get up in the morning!) . Everything happens in its own time, enjoy your babies. Looking back on it now, sleeping with my babies is one of my happiest memories of their infancy, and that respectful relationship is continuing now they are young adults.
about an hour ago ยท LikeJomamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00911504126784622213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3102141287849407838.post-23066986525193688682013-01-05T16:28:26.203+00:002013-01-05T16:28:26.203+00:00QUOTE We are forced to teach that co-sleeping is h...QUOTE We are forced to teach that co-sleeping is horrible and increases the risks of SIDS because thats what all the studies show...

But they don't do they? My oldest rarely goes 2 nights in a row without waking and my youngest is still up at least 3 times a night(9p-6a). We are forced to teach that co-sleeping is horrible and increases the risks of SIDS because thats what all the studies show...it doesn't however take into account that breastfed babies have a much lower risk of SIDS to begin with and that breastfeeding mothers are generally more responsive. I will be following your blog now. Can't wait to see what else you post.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06715810209330536566noreply@blogger.com
